In this age of technology it can be extremely difficult to switch off & get away from the demands of everyday life & social media. Whether its calls, emails, friends/family or the various social media avenues, we are always being pulled in 100 different directions which is not good for anyone, as it means you will never get a break to recharge your batteries & ultimately leads to burnout amongst other issues.
I am as guilty as everyone else – my phone & laptop are always close by, so as soon as I get a message I can respond – whilst it is understandable from a business point of view, you want to be on your game & respond asap, I am beginning to realise that it is not sustainable.
For example recently I decided for many reasons that it was time for a break – very limited phone & no social media – it gave me an opportunity to switch off, recharge & spend some quality time with my family. As a result it meant that I felt more relaxed & able to approach things in a more methodical way.
This may sound a little extreme – it may have been – but it was what I needed, one way or another I was in overwhelm. Not everyone is able to completely switch off in that way. However, no matter how busy you are you need to schedule in some time for yourself.
I believe that in doing this, you feel so much more in control & focused when you go back to reality. This is why in your boudoir experience, we spend the whole morning together. You get pampered with hair & makeup, whilst getting the chance to completely relax & be yourself. This “Me Time” is a great chance to switch off from the outside world & afterwards (should you want to) you are all ready made up, feeling good, so you can finish the day with a night out or a dinner out with the other half.
Take full advantage, especially if you’re the type of person who doesn’t normally get made up when they go out, it makes it even more special.
